Design shaped by empathy and intention.
The Slovak Anti-Poverty Network (SAPN) is a non-profit organization addressing a crucial – yet often overlooked – social issue: poverty in Slovakia.
Their previous website was outdated both visually and structurally, making it hard to communicate their mission or engage their audience effectively.

My role
My goal was to bring a sense of structure and calm – to design a website that feels trustworthy, human, effective and easy to navigate.
Visual & UX Direction
I wanted the website to feel like a guide.
Calm, but purposeful.
It’s a work in progress, but the foundation is already helping the content shine in a clearer, more welcoming way – which, to me, is the essence of good design.
I focused on:
Softness, structure, and breathing space
My intention was the design to feel light and approachable.
Since their logo already carries a distinct visual presence, I worked with colors that gently complement it and let the content feel open and welcoming.
Information structure
To help visitors take in the information at their own pace, I used a bento grid layout – it brings clarity without feeling rigid. Each section has room to breathe, which makes the site easier to navigate and more pleasant to read.
Navigation
The overall layout follows familiar patterns: a clear, centered menu and a call-to-action that fits naturally into the flow.
I reduced the number of menu items to five main sections, making the experience more intuitive and less overwhelming.
Typography
I chose a simple, modern, highly legible and variable typeface that feels welcoming and friendly. It supports the structured design without pulling attention away from what matters most: their message.
Next steps
The website is undergoing a full redesign, with development and refinement still in progress.
The goal is to create a clear, authentic, and approachable digital space that truly supports SAPN’s mission and connects with people.
